Dacha

Landscape design project for the corporate hotel of an IT firm.

The studio team got involved in the project at a stage when the construction of the main hotel building had already begun, so our solutions had to ideologically and stylistically support the eco-minimalism style set by the architects. Work on the project also included designer's supervision and procurement of all materials.

  • Location:
    Velyki Dmytrovichi, Ukraine
  • Area:
    10,000 sqm
  • Year:
    2020

Formally, the hotel site is divided into four zones: an adjacent area with parking and a guard house, a sports complex, a multifunctional public space, and a hangar for storing and servicing buggies, jet skis, and other vehicles. However, we did not artificially fragment the site into separate areas, but rather created a single space where one zone flows smoothly and imperceptibly into the other.

This is a country hotel in a picturesque place, so our goal was not to block away the nature, but to let it into the site as much as possible, so that none of the structures seemed alien or heavy against the background of the greenery. To achieve this, we, for example, literally sunk the seating area in the backyard into the lawn, and surrounded the yoga room by weightless and almost imperceptible glazing.
